A message to the members of Parliament How should you act?

إلى نواب البرلمان .. كيف تعملون؟
A message to the members of Parliament
How should you act?

عبد الرحمن المراكبي

`Abdur-Rahman Al Marakby

In the past, most Islamists who have succeeded in the parliamentary elections suffered from official marginalization and security repression, but today Allah has annihilated their enemy, appointed them as successors on earth, and they won more than seventy percent of parliament seats, so what should they do?

Dear Islamist MPs, know that you are in front of distinctive moments in the history of the whole nation, so be up to the responsibility and do not fail Muslims who granted you their votes and suspended their hopes and aspirations on you.
Get ready for hard work and serious responsibility because it is not the time of mottos, but it is the time of setting programs and realistic solutions to take Egypt out of the bottle-neck and try to depict the entire future of the nation and establishing the religion of Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) on earth; this is something needs more efforts, hard work, and persistence.
You have to study from now: "What do we need people to say about us after a year from now?" and before that: "What shall we say to our Lord tomorrow after he had given us the command of the country?"
No doubt, if you fail in this critical phase, you will not be the loser, but people will consider that Islam itself has failed, and you will no longer be the place of their trust
and the opportunity of reform will be lost forever.
Let it be known that politicians are not excused, but they should be held accountable for what they utter and may be reckoned for their silence.
We shall reckon you, ask you about your errors, so if you do well, we will thank you but if you do mistakes, we will rectify you.
O members of Freedom and Justice Party, I remind you of the motto of your group: "Islam is the only solution." So, do not forget that you have not joined that council but to support the Shari`ah of Allah and apply His Rulings, so do not let chairs deviate you from you main course, and know that the majority of people want to put the Shari`ah of Allah into practice and change the laws which violate the religious instructions because they only have not chosen for those reasons.
If you do not endeavor to change these laws and lay rules in the coming constitution, you will not be able to change them in the future.
O Nour Party, know that change will not come in a day and a night. I remind you of the situation of `Umar ibn `Abdul-`Aziz when his son `Abdul-Malik came to him and asked: What shall you say to your lord tomorrow if He asks you: "You have seen a heresy but you did not eradicate or a Sunnah that you did not revive?" His father said: May Allah bestow mercy on you and may Allah reward you the best, for you are a good son!
O my son, the people have tighten this matter a knot by a knot, and if I intend to fight them to seize what they have in possession, I will not be safe of them and blood will spread.
By Allah, the removal of the world is less valuable to me than shedding blood for its sake. Do not you like that your father would kill a heresy and revive a Sunnah everyday?
Dear members of Parliament, if you want to buy political stances, pay political stances for it, but beware not to buy politics for religion.
So, do not offer any concessions at the expense of your religion for a political booty because you shall not provide victory to Islam by leaving its rulings and you shall not raise its banner while you are defacing its features .
Finally, Egypt is on the verge of a great goodness on one condition that everyone of us would fulfill his duties and the Islamists listen to their colleagues in other political currents because the pillars of the state is based on participation not majority.
You alone will not be able to reform and rebuild this country, and remember that we are in the building phase not in a time of accounting and controversies.
Now, we are in dire need to dialogue, consultation, and compatibility, and knowing the available amount for change in the light of our current conditions and present reality.
